About The Position

The West Point Association of Graduates (WPAOG) is seeking a Director of Finance to support its mission of serving West Point and the Long Gray Line. WPAOG functions as both the alumni association and foundation for the United States Military Academy (USMA). This role reports directly to the Vice President of Finance and CFO and oversees two direct reports. The position requires expertise in endowments, cash management & treasury, construction accounting, portfolio management, contract administration, financial systems, internal control management & reporting, and broad business/finance reporting and accounting analyses. The Director will collaborate with all WPAOG functional areas and the Finance Team, assisting with accounting and reporting needs and the implementation of systematic applications within non-profit GAAP. Key responsibilities also include audit, compliance, and ad hoc reporting projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
• 5 to 8 years of experience
• Detailed oriented
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Provide information and results in a timely fashion
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Strong communication skills
• Strong computer skills including a working knowledge of all the Microsoft Office applications
• Must live within commuting distance of West Point

Responsibilities

• Direct responsibility for endowments, cash management & treasury, construction accounting, portfolio management, contract administration, financial systems, internal control management & reporting.
• Provide broad business, finance reporting and accounting analyses.
• Assist in evaluating the accounting and reporting needs of the finance function.
• Assist in the design and implementation of systematic applications to meet these needs within generally accepted accounting principles of non-profit organizations.
• Manage audit, compliance and ad hoc reporting projects.
