About The Position

The Director of Finance plays a pivotal role in assisting in the financial direction and health of the organization. This position will report to Exigo’s COO but will receive advice and strategic leadership from our contracted Fractional CFO. The Director is responsible for leading a two person Team on developing and executing strategic financial plans that align with the company’s long-term goals, ensuring sustainable growth and profitability. The Director’s primary focus will be overseeing financial operations consistent with month and year end close-out, internal controls, General Ledger audits, direct/indirect cost allocation verifications, yearly budgeting and forecasting, input on long term strategic investments, monitor cash flow, interaction with Exigo’s financial institution, interactions with our ESOP Trustee and Valuation team, interactions with our external accounting firm, and interacting with Exigo’s Fractional CFO. This position will also provide financial reporting and timely insights to the board, committees, and stakeholders. By fostering strong financial governance and compliance with audit regulations, the Director safeguards the organization's assets and reputation. Ultimately, this role demands a visionary leader who can balance analytical rigor with strategic foresight to drive organizational performance and value creation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in senior financial leadership roles, preferably as a Senior Controller or equivalent.
  • Proven expertise in financial governance, GAAP-compliant financial reporting, risk management, budgeting and forecasting, and regulatory compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute financial planning and modeling.
  • Strong knowledge of Deltek’s Costpoint, audit regulations and experience working with external auditors.
  • Expertise in Government contracting processes to include proposals, pricing, negotiations, modifications, and prime/sub documentation.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Finance.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
  • Experience in a financial role in an ESOP company.
  • Experience in the Department of Defense contracting industry to include T&M, FFP, and Cost plus contract types.
  • Experience in a DCAA Accounting System audit.
  • Experience with DCAA Incurred Cost Submission (ICS) audit.
  • Proven track record of leading finance teams and driving organizational change.
  • Familiarity with advanced financial technologies and data analytics tools.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Exigo’s Finance Team in support of near-term and long-term company goals.
  • Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive financial strategies that support the company’s objectives and growth plans.
  • Oversee and execute financial planning, budgeting, rate buildups, forecasting, reporting, and analysis to ensure accurate and actionable financial insights.
  • Review invoices, AP/AR vouchers, contract modifications, and salary compensation.
  • Oversee the proposal cost volume development, reviews, pricing, and submittals
  • Manage financial risks by establishing robust risk management frameworks and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and audit standards.
  • Assist HR on pay equity and compensation benchmarking analysis and reporting
  • Collaborate with executive leadership and the board to measure organizational performance and inform decision-making through detailed financial reporting and profit modeling.
  • Interact with Exigo’s financial institution, 401k provider, ESOP Trustee, ESOP Valuation team, and Exigo’s accounting firm.
  • Interreact with the appointed GovIRG Fractional CFO on a weekly basis for topics such as guidance, direction, discussions, support, and mentorship on financial strategies, forecasting, performance, reporting, and executive leadership interactions and taskings.
  • Lead future DCAA Accounting system audits and DCAA ICS.
