About The Position

Merkle Science provides blockchain transaction monitoring and intelligence solutions for web3 companies, digital asset service providers, financial institutions, law enforcement and government agencies to detect, investigate and prevent illicit use of cryptocurrencies. Our vision is to make cryptocurrencies safe and provide infrastructure for the safe and compliant growth of cryptocurrencies. Merkle Science is headquartered in New York with offices in Singapore, Bangalore and London. The team has combined experience across Bank of America, Paypal, Luno, Thomson Reuters and Amazon. The company has raised over US$27 MM from SIG, Beco, Republic, DCG, Kenetic, GGV and several others.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Strong knowledge of financial management, accounting principles, and financial regulations.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset.
Proficiency in financial software and tools, such as ERP systems, Excel, and financial modeling.
Exceptional leadership and team management abilities.
Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly.

Proven experience in the technology or blockchain industry is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Oversee all financial operations and direct corporate financial planning and structure.
Manage the preparation of financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and regulatory requirements.
Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information and reporting.
Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company's growth and profitability.
Lead the budgeting process and quarterly forecasting updates.
Monitor and analyse budget performance and implement corrective actions as necessary.
Provide detailed financial analysis and modelling to support strategic initiatives.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations and standards.
Develop and maintain policies and procedures to ensure financial governance.
Partner with the executive team to develop and execute long-term financial strategies.
Provide financial insights and recommendations to inform business decisions and strategies.
Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for finance staff.
Manage relationships with external auditors, investors, and financial institutions.
Present financial reports and insights to the executive team, board of directors, and investors.
Communicate financial performance and strategy to internal and external stakeholders.
