About The Position

The Director of Finance supervises and directs the hotel’s financial activities, safeguards its assets, and prepares financial reports in accordance with established guest service and sustainability standards. The role advises hotel management on operations through financial analysis, monitors and approves hotel revenue and expenditures, and oversees reporting, forecasting, budgeting, financial controls, payroll practices, and contracts. The position also supervises and supports associates and follows applicable workplace safety standards. The stated growth path is Area Director of Finance, Regional Director of Finance, and Corporate Director of Finance.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Accounting or Finance.
5 to 10 years of accounting experience in the hospitality industry.

Responsibilities

Interview, select, train, schedule, coach, and support associates, ensuring they perform according to established brand or hotel standards and HHM core values.
Analyze operational financial data to advise hotel management and help maintain an efficient operation.
Monitor and approve hotel sales, purchases, salaries, and expenses.
Prepare, review, and present the Monthly Report of Operations.
Prepare annual, revised annual, and monthly forecasts and budgets, and other forecasts or budgets requested by management or owners.
Ensure payroll practices comply with the Fair Labor Standards Act.
Oversee contracts and legal agreements, and assist hotel management with maintaining licenses, permits, insurance, and contracts.
Establish and audit internal financial controls, including those for purchasing, cash handling and disbursements, inventories, hotel equipment, master keys, and associate time records.
Practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment, and follow MSDS and OSHA standards.
Perform other duties as requested by management.
