About The Position

The Director of Finance leads the financial function at Hotel Amarano Burbank, a boutique hotel in Burbank’s entertainment district. The role is part of the hotel executive team and advises the General Manager and department heads on financial matters. It oversees financial reporting, accounting operations, budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, compliance, internal controls, and analysis to support operational efficiency and profitability. The Director of Finance also partners with the General Manager on hotel business strategy and cost-control initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of progressive financial leadership experience, preferably in the hospitality industry.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP, hospitality accounting standards, and financial systems.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and Adobe.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
• Financial acumen and business insight.

• Ethical and professional integrity.

Nice To Haves

• CPA, MBA, or equivalent qualification.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Serve as a member of the hotel executive team and advise the General Manager and department heads on financial matters.
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
• Provide financial analysis and insights to improve operational efficiency and profitability.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, local laws, and hotel brand standards.
• Complete day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, payroll, and cash management.
• Maintain strong internal controls and accurate financial records.
• Liaise with corporate and external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory bodies.
• Partner with the General Manager to develop and execute the hotel’s business strategy.
• Drive cost-control initiatives.
