About The Position

Ross Downing Auto Group is one of the Gulf South’s most respected multi-franchise dealer groups, with five locations across Louisiana and Mobile, Alabama. We’re looking for a dynamic leader to take full ownership of Finance operations across the entire group — reporting directly to our Director of Operations. This isn’t just a numbers role. We’re looking for someone who builds teams, develops talent, and sets the standard for how F&I should be done. Strong F&I Managers and Directors are welcome — and so are accomplished GSMs or GMs who have a solid F&I foundation and a genuine passion for growing people.

Requirements

  • Proven F&I Manager or Director with 5+ years in retail automotive — OR a seasoned GSM / GM with meaningful F&I experience and a demonstrated track record of developing people and teams.
  • A natural team builder who earns trust on the floor, coaches with patience and conviction, and leads by example rather than just by title.
  • Solid working knowledge of F&I compliance requirements in both Louisiana and Alabama.
  • Comfortable with regular travel across the Gulf South — visiting all five locations and maintaining consistent standards throughout the group.
  • Data-driven mindset — understands PVR, penetration rates, and lender relationships, and uses the numbers to coach the team and report clearly to operations leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, develop, and hold accountable for the F&I team at all five Ross Downing locations across Louisiana and Mobile — building a consistent, high-performance culture group-wide.
  • Standardize F&I menus, processes, and product presentations across all stores to drive per-unit profitability and strong product penetration.
  • Manage lender and vendor relationships — negotiating programs, expanding the lending matrix, and ensuring competitive rate and reserve structures.
  • Ensure full compliance with CFPB, FTC, and all applicable Louisiana, Alabama, and federal regulations.
  • Conduct regular audits and deal reviews at every location.
  • Partner with sales management on deal structuring to improve turn times, approval rates, and overall deal quality — leveraging Dealertrack for reporting and workflow efficiency.
  • Report regularly to the Director of Operations with performance analysis and strategic recommendations to continuously elevate F&I results across the group.
