OpenDor Media is seeking a Director of Finance and Controller to lead its accounting and finance functions for a global, mission-driven nonprofit with an operating budget of approximately $20 million. This role offers a growth opportunity beyond a traditional Controller position, serving as a leader and partner to division heads and the CFO. The organization has recently upgraded its financial systems, migrating to the IES ERP platform and modernizing its AP workflow with BILL.com. A global corporate governance and compliance review is also underway. This role is pivotal in building the finance department into a highly efficient operation. The CFO role is part-time, granting this position significant ownership. While not a CFO role, it encompasses direct responsibility for the general ledger, month-end close, consolidated GAAP statements, internal controls, audit and Form 990 management, non-U.S. accounting and compliance, budget and forecast mechanics, cash, AP/AR, the systems stack, and leadership of the finance team. The position will act as the primary finance partner to several program divisions and be a key finance voice in daily operating decisions. The CFO retains oversight of Board relations, final budget approval, investment strategy, institutional relationships, finance policy approval, and executive/donor strategy. The initial focus will be on excelling in the described responsibilities, with a clear path for expanded scope as the organization scales and the CFO role remains part-time. The right candidate will be well-positioned for broader financial leadership.
