About The Position

The Field Services Director provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for the 12 Probation and Parole Field Services Offices statewide. This executive-level position is responsible for planning, policy development, program implementation, operational management, and performance evaluation to ensure the effective delivery of community supervision services throughout the state. Reporting to the Chief of Operations, the Director leads a diverse team of field service managers and professionals, oversees statewide field operations, and collaborates with legislative, governmental, community, and stakeholder partners to advance the Department's mission and strategic priorities.

Requirements

  • High School diploma
  • six (6) years or more experience in human services or criminal justice
  • two (2) years or more of experience working with corrections administration and/or corrections clients
  • two (2) years or more of supervisory or management duties
  • Candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position.
  • Criminal record checks for all AHS positions, including motor vehicle driving record checks and national record checks where appropriate.
  • Previous institutional employers will be contacted and required to provide information regarding substantiated incidences of sexual abuse or resignation during a pending investigation of an allegation of sexual abuse.
  • Candidates who have any felony conviction record or who, within the past five (5) years, have been placed under supervision or sanctioned for a misdemeanor conviction must receive a waiver from the Commissioner of Corrections in order to be considered for employment.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee statewide Probation and Parole field office operations.
  • Provide direct supervision to the Deputy Director of Field Services and Field Services Operations Managers.
  • Oversee the supervision and support of District Managers and the Victim Services Unit.
  • Ensure consistent implementation of policies, procedures, and best practices across all field offices.
  • Manage and coordinate operational practices and service delivery within the division.
  • Lead the development and implementation of departmental and legislative initiatives related to Field Services.
  • Oversee the statewide case staffing system and related operational processes.
  • Identify opportunities for program enhancement, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures that support organizational goals and public safety outcomes.
  • Manage division budgets and resource allocation.
  • Oversee local contracts, vendor relationships, and procurement activities, including equipment purchases.
  • Provide program oversight to ensure efficient and effective use of resources.
  • Coordinate, monitor, and evaluate the statewide Electronic Monitoring Program.
  • Ensure alignment between legislative intent, departmental policies, and operational practices.
  • Manage vendor contracts and performance expectations.
  • Prepare and present legislative reports and program updates.
  • Represent the Department in interactions with legislators, media representatives, governmental agencies, and public and private organizations.
  • Deliver presentations and communicate departmental priorities, initiatives, and positions to diverse audiences.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with community partners and stakeholders.
  • Provide oversight of all Field Services personnel and human resource matters.
  • Support leadership development, succession planning, and workforce engagement initiatives.
  • Promote accountability, professional development, and high-performance standards throughout the division.
