About The Position

The Director of Family Impact and Community Partnerships provides strategic leadership for advancing the organization’s vision for family engagement, family outcomes, and community collaborations and partnerships. This role ensures that family-centered practices are embedded across all program sites and that community partnerships align with organizational goals and support comprehensive services for children and families. The Director of Family Impact and Community Partnerships supervises the ERSEA Manager, Family and Community Engagement Coordinator, and the Sixpence Childcare Partnership Program’s Community-based Infant and Toddler Specialist and serves as a subject matter expert in family engagement, community collaboration, and family impact strategies. This position serves as the primary point of contact for programmatic community partnerships, including organizations that provide services, education, enrichment, or supports to children, families, staff, and programs through formal or informal agreements.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in social work, human services, family studies, early childhood education, public administration, nonprofit management, community development, or a related field required.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive leadership experience in early childhood education, family services, nonprofit management, community engagement, or related fields.
  • Experience supervising managers and/or program leaders.
  • Experience developing community partnerships and collaborative initiatives.
  • Experience utilizing data to drive decision-making and program improvement.
  • Strong understanding of family-centered, strengths-based, culturally responsive practice.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal teams and external community partners.
  • Must be able to pass a background check that meets compliance standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Head Start, Early Head Start, Sixpence, or similar family-focused programs preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive agency-wide strategy for family engagement, policy committee, and family impact aligned with organizational goals, Head Start Performance Standards, Sixpence requirements, and best practices in early childhood education.
  • Lead organizational efforts to create consistent family engagement and ERSEA practices across all sites and programs while collaborating with site and agency leadership.
  • Monitor emerging research and best practices and translate findings into organizational policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Develop systems to monitor, evaluate, and improve family engagement and Policy Committee efforts and family outcomes.
  • Analyze family engagement data, family outcomes, attendance, enrollment trends, and other indicators to identify strengths, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Provide coaching, technical assistance, and consultation to program leaders and site teams on effective family engagement strategies.
  • Develop agency-wide tools, resources, and training that enhance family-centered practices.
  • Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with community organizations, school districts, healthcare providers, social service agencies, higher education institutions, and other stakeholders.
  • Identify partnership opportunities that support organizational goals, family well-being, and child outcomes.
  • Represent the organization within community coalitions, events, advisory groups, and collaborative networks.
  • Strengthen the organization's visibility and influence within the community.
  • Evaluate partnership effectiveness and ensure partnerships generate measurable value for children, families, and the organization.
  • Provide supervision and leadership to the ERSEA Manager and Family and Community Engagement Coordinator.
  • Monitor enrollment systems and support achievement of funded enrollment targets.
  • Utilize data to improve enrollment stability and family participation.
  • Provide strategic oversight and supervision of the Sixpence Childcare Partnership Program.
  • Ensure program implementation aligns with grant requirements, organizational goals, and quality standards.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with community childcare partners.
  • Support quality improvement initiatives and capacity building among partner programs.
