About The Position

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 3-5 years of progressive facilities or maintenance leadership experience.
  • Previous supervisory and team leadership experience required.
  • Strong leadership and team development abilities
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Sound judgment and decision-making capabilities
  • Ability to remain calm and effective during emergencies
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to resident safety, quality service, and operational excellence

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related field) preferred.
  • Specialized training in business management, facilities management, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Current certifications in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, construction, or related trades are highly desirable.
  • Previous experience in a senior living community, long-term care, healthcare, assisted living, or similar environment strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of: NC Life Safety regulations, OSHA standards, State and federal regulations for long-term care and assisted living, Local fire and safety codes

Responsibilities

  • Lead and administer a comprehensive preventive maintenance program for campus buildings, systems, and equipment.
  • Oversee day-to-day maintenance, construction projects, utility systems, and campus infrastructure.
  • Supervise and mentor maintenance team members, providing guidance, training, support, and performance management.
  • Partner with campus leadership and department managers to ensure safe, efficient, and uninterrupted operations.
  • Chair the campus Safety Committee and oversee Environmental Services initiatives.
  • Assist with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and developing departmental staff.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director to develop departmental budgets and operational plans.
  • Schedule staff coverage and manage 24/7 on-call maintenance support to meet campus needs.
  • Analyze maintenance costs, prioritize repairs, and implement efficient operational practices.
  • Direct campus safety, fire prevention, security, emergency preparedness, and civil defense programs.
  • Participate in Infection Prevention and Control initiatives in accordance with healthcare regulations.
  • Prepare apartment and resident living spaces for occupancy, including necessary repairs, renovations, and refurbishments.
  • Ensure all residential, assisted living, healthcare, and common areas are maintained to the highest standards.
