DIRECTOR OF ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES (Existing Position)
About The Position
We’re looking for a Director of Environmental Services to lead critical municipal services that keep our community safe, sustainable, and prepared for the future. This role is responsible for administering and directing the Environmental Services Department in areas of Solid Waste Management Programs and Facilities, Water/Wastewater Programs (i.e.: Environmental Assessments, Septage Receiving Station and Sewage Treatment Plant agreements) in accordance with provincial/federal legislation, environmental sustainability, council policies, and within approved budget guidelines. This role is also responsible for planning for growth management as it relates to water, wastewater, and the asset management program specific to the Environmental Services Department.
Requirements
- Community College Diploma in a related field
- Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks Water License Class II or Wastewater License Class II in compliance with Provincial regulations
- Significant demonstrated municipal experience in a senior office capacity of a minimum of 5 years
- Demonstrated management and performance management skills, including the ability to effectively lead a team
- Strong oral and written communication skills with various levels of staff, Council, and the public
- Demonstrated budgeting, long-range planning skills, and financial aptitude
