About The Position

The Director of Environmental Services is primarily responsible for management and supervision of the maintenance, dietary, and housekeeping staff. Core duties and responsibilities include developing departmental standards of performance in accordance with all required guidelines to ensure compliance with standards that will provide an optimal environment. This role establishes and implements preventive maintenance, dietary standards, and housekeeping programs to meet licensing, code, and safety requirements. The Director is responsible for a wide variety of skilled maintenance, dietary, laundry, janitorial, and housekeeping duties in and around the facility.

Requirements

  • Excellent customer facing soft skills to interact with both internal (residents and staff) and external (families, vendors, governmental agencies, etc.) customers.
  • High level of professionalism, approaches others in a tactful manner; Reacts well under pressure; Treats others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position; Accepts responsibility for own actions; Is completely trustworthy and honest in dealings with the facility; Follows through on commitments.
  • Consistently at work and on time; Ensures work responsibilities are covered when absent; Arrives at meetings and appointments on time.
  • Must have identifiable characteristics that complement the company core values.
  • Combination of education and work experience equivalent to some trade school plus three years’ experience in related general maintenance, institutional setting preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership/supervision experience.
  • Know how to safely operate various power tools.
  • Valid California driver’s license.
  • Must have liability insurance when driving personal vehicle for company business.
