We are seeking a visionary Director of Engineering to lead the next evolution of our technical landscape. This isn't a purely managerial role; we want someone who codes, experiments, and genuinely gets excited about what AI and automation can do for software products. You will be responsible for architecting and scaling a high-performance, AI-integrated cloud environment. This role is designed for a technical leader who thrives on building modern, scalable systems from the ground up while maintaining the high standards of an established enterprise.

Requirements

  • A proven track record of building and scaling modern web architectures in a fast-paced environment.
  • Expert-level understanding of modern, component-based frontend architectures and server-side rendering.
  • Significant experience designing and optimizing relational database architectures for high-concurrency environments.
  • Deep familiarity with major cloud providers (AWS/Azure/GCP), serverless architecture, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical strategy into tangible business value for executive stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working within a portfolio or multi-product software environment.
  • Familiarity with M&A integration or scaling acquired software products.
  • Background in vertical market or enterprise SaaS.

Responsibilities

  • Direct the implementation of AI-driven workflows and LLM features to enhance product capabilities and internal developer velocity.
  • Serve as an active, hands-on user of AI coding tools (Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT, Copilot, or equivalent) and champion their adoption across the team.
  • Establish and uphold engineering best practices: code review, CI/CD, testing, and observability.
  • Architect and scale cloud-native applications with expert-level command of modern, component-based frontend architectures and server-side rendering.
  • Design and optimize relational database architectures for high-concurrency environments.
  • Drive deep familiarity with major cloud providers (AWS/Azure/GCP), including serverless architecture and robust CI/CD pipelines.
  • Mentor and grow a multi-disciplinary engineering team, fostering a culture of high performance, modern DevOps practices, and continuous learning.
  • Bridge the gap between complex business requirements and technical execution, ensuring delivery of robust, cloud-native applications.
  • Lead through technical shifts, ensuring team alignment, high morale, and a focus on long-term scalability.
