About The Position

The Director of Employee Growth and Development is responsible for enhancing leadership effectiveness, designing and implementing innovative training programs, fostering employee engagement, and supporting resident experience initiatives. This role champions organizational culture, drives strategic initiatives, and measures program outcomes to ensure continuous improvement. The position requires a blend of expertise in leadership development, organizational learning, employee engagement, and strategic planning, with a focus on creating a positive and high-performing work environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Development, Education, Business Administration or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • 5–8 years of experience in training, leadership development, organizational development, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating meetings, leadership retreats, and organizational offsites.
  • Proven ability to train and teach in-person and virtual classes, workshops, and seminars.
  • Experience with curriculum design and adult learning methodologies.
  • Familiarity with teaching and learning styles, including Adult Education principles.
  • Experience maintaining organizational culture while fostering innovation.
  • Ability to partner effectively with team members at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Experience with Canva, SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams.
  • Skilled in creating engaging presentations and training materials.
  • High emotional intelligence (EQ) and interpersonal effectiveness.
  • Strong coaching, facilitation, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to grow and develop high-performing teams.
  • Strategic thinker with strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Passion for continuous learning and professional development.
  • Knowledge of organizational behavior and leadership thought leaders.
  • Must have discretion in judgment, tact and courtesy in dealing with residents, employees and general public.

Responsibilities

  • Coach and onboard new and existing leaders to enhance effectiveness and organizational alignment.
  • Develop and oversee the Manager Growth & Development Program, including leadership assessments.
  • Facilitate leadership retreats, offsites, and executive development sessions.
  • Lead the annual Leadership Summit and ongoing leadership initiatives.
  • Deliver leadership training, book studies, Lunch & Learns, and in-service education.
  • Design, develop, and implement innovative training programs using adult learning principles.
  • Serve as Program Director, Facilitator, Presenter, and Curriculum Developer for the Academy for Career Excellence (ACE).
  • Implement Train-the-Trainer programs to build internal training capacity.
  • Create and facilitate both in-person and virtual workshops.
  • Partner with department leaders to assess training needs and develop customized learning solutions.
  • Develop customer service and hospitality training programs aligned with organizational standards.
  • Serve as a champion of organizational culture and employee well-being.
  • Lead initiatives that enhance employee engagement and support a positive workplace environment.
  • Function as a Chief Culture Officer to ensure alignment between values, behaviors, and organizational goals.
  • Develop and implement strategies that support employee and resident well-being.
  • Oversee and support programs that enhance resident and family experiences, including Satisfaction Surveys.
  • Support Life Enrichment initiatives through meetings, training, and offsites.
  • Facilitate and promote specialized service approaches, including: Dementia Training (Teepa Snow’s Positive Approach to Care®); Eden Alternative®; Green House Project® (Pioneer Network); Grind Dining™ Program.
  • Support the implementation and training of resident communication tools such as Go Icon.
  • Ensure customer service excellence across all levels of the organization.
  • Lead and facilitate PROS (Professionals Redefine Organizational Success) leadership development sessions.
  • Partner with executive leadership to drive organizational effectiveness and innovation.
  • Facilitate strategic planning sessions and organizational offsites.
  • Create and implement well-being strategies for employees and residents.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate program effectiveness.
  • Measure outcomes related to engagement, retention, leadership development, and resident satisfaction.
  • Analyze and report program outcomes and data to executive leadership and the Board of Directors.
  • Use data-driven insights to continuously improve learning and development initiatives.
