About The Position

The University of Maine at Farmington (UMF) is seeking an energetic, visionary leader to step into the role of Director of Early College Partnerships. This exempt, full-time position, based on the UMF campus in Farmington, Maine, aims to expand educational opportunities for high school students across the state by bridging the gap between secondary schools and university life. The role involves building pathways to the future, acting as the face of UMF’s early college programs, and working with K-12 partners, high school counselors, parents, and academic departments. Key responsibilities include coordinating concurrent enrollment, leading efforts for national accreditation (NACEP), and shaping the strategic growth of the campus community.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience developing programmatic partnerships or related work.
  • Outstanding communication skills, a collaborative spirit, sharp problem-solving abilities, and a high comfort level with modern digital tools (Google Suite, Zoom, ExplorEC, etc.).

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience developing strategic partnerships.
  • Experience teaching or working closely with high school or collegiate students.
  • A strong understanding of student support services and academic divisions.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary liaison to public and private high schools, visiting campuses to recruit, inspire, and orient future students.
  • Develop and implement plans to expand program delivery through both face-to-face and distance learning modalities.
  • Create robust systems of support—including orientations, academic coaching, and progress tracking—to ensure early college students thrive.
  • Partner with Admissions, Division Chairs, Financial Services, and the University of Maine System (UMS) to ensure a seamless, student-centered experience.
  • Maintain high-quality standards by guiding the program through the NECHE and NACEP initial accreditation and renewal timelines.
