Director of Distribution & Operations
About The Position
Uline is seeking a hands-on warehouse leader to direct one of its largest distribution operations in North America, spanning more than 2.5 million square feet. The Director leads from the warehouse floor, stays connected to daily operations, develops high-performing teams, and delivers the service customers expect, including same-day shipping. Relocation assistance is available for qualified candidates. The role oversees day-to-day warehouse operations across inbound, outbound, and supporting departments, and develops warehouse managers who lead more than 500 employees. Uline is a family-owned distributor of shipping, industrial, and packaging materials with more than 10,000 employees across 15 locations. The position is based at Uline’s Pennsylvania Branch in Allentown, Pennsylvania. New hires must complete a pre-employment hair follicle drug screening.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 10+ years leading high-volume distribution operations, including direct leadership of warehouse managers and teams of 400+ people.
- Proven success improving productivity, quality, and safety through operational leadership.
- Experience leading with KPIs, performance metrics, and warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead by example on the warehouse floor, working alongside employees to ensure accuracy, productivity, and safety.
- Direct day-to-day warehouse operations across inbound, outbound, and supporting departments.
- Coach and develop warehouse managers through daily feedback and hands-on leadership.
- Drive accountability and continuous improvement to deliver high levels of service and same-day shipping.
- Investigate operational challenges, remove barriers, and implement practical, data-driven improvements to warehouse performance.
