Director of Development - College of Medicine
About The Position
The University of Nebraska Foundation is seeking a Director of Development to serve as a trusted, strategic fundraising partner for the College of Medicine. This role is crucial in enabling the University of Nebraska to change and save lives by cultivating relationships with alumni and philanthropic partners. The foundation is currently in the public phase of a historic $3 billion campaign. This position will be based in our Omaha office and will play a critical role in building a robust community of philanthropic support by planning and implementing major gift fundraising strategies, including identification, cultivation, and stewardship of major gift donors. The role involves building relationships with alumni and philanthropists to align their giving with the charitable priorities of the College of Medicine and assisting in the creation and implementation of overall development strategy.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 1-5 years’ experience in development, fundraising, sales, or a related field with transferrable skills.
- Demonstrated success in the solicitation of annual and major gifts.
- Ability to effectively coordinate and manage a variety of projects and programs simultaneously.
- Discretion in handling and navigating confidential matters.
- Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills.
- Candidates will also be evaluated on our core values of passion for mission, integrity, and teamwork.
