About The Position

Develops strategic plan and directs activities to maintain and grow individual, corporate, and special event fund development. This includes, but is not limited to, oversight and direct participation for donor cycle management, proposal development, event planning, public relations, donor database management, and department reporting. This position involves both internal and external responsibilities and works in conjunction with the Chief Advancement Officer.

Requirements

  • College degree in a related field(s).
  • Three to five years in a dedicated fundraising position with a proven track record of success.
  • Three plus years of donor development experience.
  • Communication experience.
  • Strategic planning experience.
  • Budget management experience.
  • Donor database experience.
  • Knowledge of tax laws that impact charitable giving.
  • Ability to take initiative.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with all levels of stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Manage donor cultivation and asks, along with special events.
  • Support grant application development, as needed.
  • Analyze data to inform strategic plan development.
  • Create goals and strategies surrounding resource development, creating a process for implementing activities relating to event, corporate, and mid-level fundraising initiatives.
  • Develop metrics to reflect progress towards goals.
  • Control fundraising expenses related to donor solicitations and events within budget.
  • Develop strategic alliances with community business leaders, donors, and prospects.
  • Create relationships with existing regional and national Boys & Girls Club of America sponsors.
  • Maintain oral and written contact with donors, prospects, and others for the purpose of donor cultivation.
  • Establish stewardship correspondence that includes timely delivery of tax-donation receipts, corresponding thank you communication, and Club updates.
  • Direct and participate in donor cycle management - prospecting, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
  • Conduct face-to-face solicitations involving the CAO and key stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive plans and programs resulting in increased awareness of impact and a positive image within the community, including but not limited to: Assisting with the drafting and distribution of the BGCSCK Annual Report; Drafting and distributing direct mail fundraising letter(s); Drafting and distributing stakeholder/donor Information Packets; Other marketing pieces as required for events and special promotions.
  • Ensure appropriate and timely communication and follow-up with key supporters.
  • Maintain the donor database.
  • Manage stewardship procedures.
  • End of Year/Annual Campaign development and implementation.
  • Plan and execute annual events.
  • Community event coordination.
  • Maintain oral and written contact with the Chief Advancement Officer, assigned development groups, and peers for the purpose of exchanging information and coordinating activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
