About The Position

BPG Designs is seeking an experienced Director of Design to lead its Design Division of approximately 100 professionals across design, CAD, survey, project management, permitting, and quality control. The role oversees design production from project kickoff through issued-for-construction packages, aligning people, resources, and customer commitments. Success is measured by client communication, meeting commitments, design quality, divisional gross profit, timely billing, and collections. The target is to deliver at least 95% of committed design packages on time and approved without significant revisions or customer rejection. The Director leads a multidisciplinary organization, develops managers, plans staffing, and improves production systems through standardization, automation, capacity planning, and accurate forecasting. The role ensures designs meet customer standards, utility requirements, municipal regulations, and constructability requirements; oversees permitting and utility coordination; and partners with Operations and Construction to align design delivery with field execution. The Director serves as an executive contact for key customers, resolves escalations, reduces rework and field corrections, manages the department budget, and uses performance data to improve operational results and profitability. The role offers the opportunity to shape how a large design organization operates, develop future leaders, and measurably improve project delivery and customer relationships.
