The University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) is seeking a Director of Custodial Services to provide strategic leadership, administrative oversight, and operational direction for custodial services across the UCCS campus. This role is responsible for developing and implementing custodial service strategies, workforce plans, performance metrics, quality assurance programs, and resource management practices that support the University's mission, customer service objectives, and facility stewardship goals. The Director oversees campus-wide custodial operations through subordinate supervisors and managers, establishes departmental priorities, recommends resource allocation strategies, and serves as a key advisor to Facilities Services leadership regarding service delivery, workforce effectiveness, operational efficiencies, and long-term custodial planning. The position serves as the departmental lead for custodial master planning, campus appearance strategy, sustainability and waste-diversion initiatives, service-level optimization, and performance benchmarking. The position develops long-range operational plans, establishes key performance indicators, and utilizes industry benchmarking through APPA and peer institutions to guide continuous improvement, resource stewardship, and strategic decision-making. The position collaborates extensively with campus leadership, auxiliary units, Housing, Event Services, Public Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, and Facilities partners to ensure safe, effective, and customer-focused custodial programs. The Director may act on behalf of the Executive Director in matters related to custodial operations and service continuity. The Director responds to campus emergencies, supports weather-related operations, and serves as a key technical resource during outages or system failures.
