About The Position

The Milwaukee Rescue Mission Cross Trainers Academy (CTA) is a K4-12th grade Christian Academy in the heart of Milwaukee, serving students and families who are searching for a strong academic learning experience in a gospel-centered environment. As a Choice School, CTA is committed to offering a comprehensive, student-centered educational experience that serves the whole student. Our express purpose is to provide at-risk children with the opportunity for an excellent, Christian-based education that will equip them with academic, social, emotional, and spiritual tools for life. The Milwaukee Rescue Mission is seeking a Director of CTA, School Administrator to oversee the CTA Elementary and Middle/High School Principals and staff to provide strong leadership for all school programs, grades K4-12th. This position also oversees and provides leadership to the Parent and Family Engagement and Youth Programming staff to serve students and CTA families. CTA responsibilities include monitoring student progress and measuring achievement; promoting academic excellence; career development and vocational ed.; mentoring leaders; determining curriculum; developing technology, promoting and protecting MRM and school culture; overseeing and maintaining discipline; and working with the North Campus Pastor to provide strong, Gospel-centered leadership and spiritual formation for the entire school community. Parent and Family Engagement and Youth Programming responsibilities include overseeing the development and execution of increased services, resources, and programming to our CTA students and families.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education or applicable field required
  • Ability to be credentialed in the state of Wisconsin as a school administrator (Principal/Superintendent)
  • A mature Christian leader with a servant’s heart who is able to relate well with others in a diverse population and willing to serve in an urban environment of significant need
  • Demonstrate excellent leadership qualities, including the ability to build, direct, motivate, and sustain a mission-based, gospel-centered, principles-driven, results-orientated team
  • Strong management and collaboration skills, including strong ability to work with parents face-to-face in an ethical, compassionate and confident manner
  • Proven skills in leadership, group facilitation, operations, and data collection and analysis
  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal communication and team building skills
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate staff to accomplish stated goals and objectives while developing their individual and group skills
  • Outstanding organizational and time management skills with demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Proactive, creative, and flexible in determining, evaluating, researching, and resolving issues
  • Ability to be self-controlled, maintain a calm demeanor and think fast in the face of a crisis or dispute
  • Strong self-starter with a high level of personal motivation
  • Competent in the following platforms: Word, Excel, Outlook, Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, PowerSchool
  • Consistently meets or exceeds job performance expectations
  • Have a genuine concern for the salvation and spiritual welfare for all those encountered though the ministry of MRM, seeking to model and share the hope of the gospel within the established responsibilities of this position
  • A workplace demeanor consistent with a Christian church environment: civil, respectful, polite, and responsive
  • Be in agreement with and subscribe to the MRM Statement of Faith and the MRM Statement of Biblical Convictions
  • Be a committed follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, which is evident in personal testimony and Christian conduct
  • Pass a pre-employment background check and drug test

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in school administration preferred
  • Leadership experience in an urban environment preferred
