About The Position

The Director of the School of Nursing is responsible for the overall leadership and administration of the nursing program. This includes overseeing faculty, curriculum development, research initiatives, and ensuring the quality and accreditation of the program. The role requires a strong academic background, significant administrative experience, and a commitment to excellence in nursing education.

Requirements

• Earned graduate degree in nursing.
• Current RN license and eligibility for licensure in Michigan.
• A record of teaching, research, and service excellence sufficient to merit appointment as a tenured professor.
• Evidence of administrative experience.
• Evidence of experience in accreditation.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and administrative oversight for the School of Nursing.
• Oversee faculty recruitment, development, and evaluation.
• Lead curriculum development and ensure its alignment with professional standards and accreditation requirements.
• Foster a culture of research and scholarly activity among faculty and students.
• Manage the school's budget and resources effectively.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant accreditation standards and state regulations.
• Represent the School of Nursing to internal and external stakeholders.
