About The Position

The Director of Corporate Partnership Development serves as the W. P. Carey School of Business primary point of contact for corporate workforce partnerships or corporate partners interested in accessing ASU, while managing and growing the relationships between individual enterprises and W. P. Carey. This position plays a pivotal role in identifying training needs, curriculum development, and establishing collaborative relationships with external stakeholders. The Director cultivates and develops relationships between knowledge-based companies and W. P. Carey. Provides access to student talent, faculty talent, technical facilities, technology transfer, and other ASU assets to develop and expand relationships between the university and businesses.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and seven (7) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
  • Evidence of a Master's degree in a business-related discipline.
  • 5-10 years of global business experience with solid experience working in innovation-based industries.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of: Corporate relations, business operations and business development
  • Business school academic programs and research
  • Management and financial principles and practices
  • Strategic planning principles and practices
  • Global business preferred
  • Experience in: Planning, analyzing, and coordination activities and establishing priorities
  • Having effective communication skills
  • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships in a complex organization, including Global networking
  • Travelling locally, nationally and globally
  • Handling confidential information
  • Establishing and expanding relationships with senior executives

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders and corporate partners to identify and expand collaboration opportunities.
  • Foster long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships that support both University and partner objectives.
  • Build credibility and rapport with faculty to facilitate engagement in research, training, and industry partnerships.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for new and existing corporate workforce partnerships.
  • Assess partner workforce training needs through intake processes and gap analyses.
  • Align partner needs with University resources, including faculty expertise, research capabilities, and student talent.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and employer partners to inform curriculum design, program objectives, and learning outcomes.
  • Ensure programs meet industry standards and reflect current workforce demands.
  • Identify and facilitate opportunities for collaboration aligned with partner research and business goals.
  • Evaluate and improve corporate outreach and workforce development programs based on industry trends and partner feedback.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation to strengthen program delivery and partnership impact.
