About The Position

The Chesapeake Baysox are seeking a highly motivated, results-driven Director of Corporate Partnerships to lead sponsorship sales efforts and drive revenue growth throughout the organization. This individual will be responsible for generating new corporate partnership revenue, managing and growing an existing portfolio of sponsors, developing strategic business relationships throughout the region, and leading the day-to-day efforts of the Corporate Partnerships department. The ideal candidate is a proven seller who thrives on building relationships, identifying opportunities, closing deals, and delivering exceptional service to partners. This position will play a critical role in the organization’s overall revenue strategy and will serve as a leader within the Baysox front office. The Director, Corporate Partnerships reports directly to the Director of Corporate Partnerships for Attain Sports and oversee the Manager, Corporate Partnerships.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of sponsorship sales, sports sales, media sales, advertising sales, or related business development experience.
  • Demonstrated history of generating new business revenue and achieving sales goals.
  • Strong presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience managing corporate accounts and delivering exceptional client service.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as required by the baseball schedule.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in Minor League Baseball, professional sports, collegiate athletics, media, or entertainment.
  • Previous management or leadership experience.
  • Established business network within the Mid-Atlantic region.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all efforts to generate new sponsorship revenue for the Chesapeake Baysox.
  • Prospect, develop, and close new corporate partnership agreements across all categories.
  • Create customized marketing and partnership solutions that align with client objectives and organizational goals.
  • Consistently maintain a robust sales pipeline and achieve established revenue targets.
  • Conduct regular meetings, presentations, and proposals with prospective partners.
  • Identify and secure multi-year partnership opportunities.
  • Maximize inventory across traditional, digital, promotional, hospitality, community, and experiential assets.
  • Manage a portfolio of existing corporate partners and serve as the primary relationship manager for key accounts.
  • Ensure all contractual obligations are fulfilled and executed at a high level.
  • Conduct regular business reviews and strategic planning sessions with partners.
  • Identify opportunities for account growth, renewals, and upselling.
  • Maintain exceptional partner satisfaction and retention rates.
  • Direct and mentor the Manager, Corporate Partnerships.
  • Assist in training, coaching, and developing sales staff.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, and revenue generation.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on sponsorship strategy, pricing, inventory management, and departmental planning.
  • Serve as an ambassador for the Chesapeake Baysox throughout the community.
  • Actively participate in networking events, business organizations, chambers of commerce, and community functions.
  • Develop relationships with business leaders throughout Maryland, Washington, D.C., and the surrounding region.
  • Identify new business opportunities that strengthen the organization’s presence and revenue potential.
  • Work closely with ticket sales, marketing, game presentation, community relations, and operations departments to execute partnership programs.
  • Collaborate with Attain Sports leadership on cross-property partnership opportunities and strategic initiatives.
  • Provide regular reporting on sales activity, pipeline development, renewals, and revenue performance.
