About The Position
Meals on Wheels Western Michigan is seeking a Director of Community Engagement and Marketing to join their Leadership Team. This role is crucial in advancing the organization's mission of providing quality nutrition services to older adults in Kent and Allegan Counties. The Director will be responsible for strategic communications, community engagement, advocacy, branding, and volunteer leadership. The goal is to increase public awareness, strengthen community partnerships, engage volunteers, and cultivate organizational support, all while upholding the organization's Mission, Vision, and Core Values. Meals on Wheels delivers more than just food; they deliver kindness, companionship, and hope, ensuring no senior is hungry or forgotten.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
- Demonstrated ability to build and lead a cohesive team
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Website maintenance and social media platforms
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications or related field
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Leadership Team to establish and achieve organizational strategic goals.
- Develop and implement marketing, communications, and community engagement strategies that support organizational objectives.
- Serve as a key ambassador for MOWWM, building relationships with community partners, donors, volunteers, elected officials, and the public.
- Support advocacy efforts and engagement with local, state, and federal policymakers.
- Oversee public relations, branding, website management, social media, and content development.
- Ensure consistent messaging and brand standards across all communications.
- Support community and organizational events as needed.
- Lead, develop, and evaluate department staff, including hiring, training, coaching, and performance management.
- Monitor and report department performance through established metrics and scorecards.
- Foster a positive organizational culture by working collaboratively with staff and volunteers.
