About The Position

Missoula Children's Theatre is hiring a full time Director of Communications and Outreach to join our team in Missoula, Montana. Our Mission is empowering children and adults through theatre education and performance to develop lifelong skills while enriching communities worldwide through live productions. The Director of Communications and Outreach is responsible for developing and executing marketing and communication strategies and identifying and securing strategic national marketing partnerships.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or business highly preferred.
  • Minimum 2-3 years marketing experience
  • Minimum 2-3 years supervisory experience demonstrating strong interpersonal and administrative skills.
  • Project management experience including managing timelines and project budgets.
  • Prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Sound judgment, professionalism, and a positive attitude.
  • Maintain and enhance company image with sound artistic vision.
  • Resourcefulness, creativity, and strong problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • 3-5 years marketing experience
  • 3-5 years supervisory experience demonstrating strong interpersonal and administrative skills.
  • Experience in public relations, business development, prospecting, and stewardship.
  • Persuasive writing, strong verbal communications, excellent customer service and the ability to interact at the executive level.
  • Demonstrate excellent organizational and managerial skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent and prompt written and verbal communications skills.
  • Capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously and successfully.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement communications plans with cost-effective marketing and outreach strategies to communicate with a range of constituents through printed and electronic media and advertising.
  • Oversee branding of the company and make final branding decisions with Executive Director.
  • Oversee creation and production of press releases, publications, videos, collateral, newsletters, social media content, brochures, and other printed materials.
  • Oversee updates and maintenance of the organization’s website, online publications, and social media.
  • Create a marketing plan for each program and adjust plans as needed.
  • Oversee all ad buys for the company.
  • Oversee Google AdWords account.
  • Evaluate analytics on social sites and marketing platforms and adjust messaging as needed.
  • Proof all company materials including brochures, lobby displays and larger external correspondence by other departments.
  • Identify, build, and secure national marketing partnerships with relevant organizations and initiatives that advance our company’s mission while generating significant, sustainable revenue for MCT.
  • Ensure national partner marketing plans are clearly communicated and contain the right mix of activities to strengthen the company’s brand while driving partner and customer engagement.
  • Communicate and collaborate with a range of people and organizations to advance our mission.
  • Provide marketing support to internal team members.
  • Participate in Leadership meetings.
  • Supervise all employees in the Marketing and Box-Office departments.
  • Have one-on-one meetings with direct reports monthly.
  • Facilitate semi-monthly marketing meeting.
  • Assist in determining pricing models for all programming.
  • Determine all marketing/advertising budget numbers.
  • Review/analyze budget numbers with Executive Director and Finance Director.
  • Prepare dashboard report for monthly board meeting.
  • Oversee merchandise decisions and ordering.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain positive, professional working relationships with staff, visitors, volunteers, and the public.
  • Always Represent Missoula Children’s Theatre in a professional manner.
  • Support all-hands efforts as needed, consistent with individual skills and availability.
  • Participate in training or development opportunities related to the role when available and appropriate.
  • Act in the best interests of the organization and its facilities.
