About The Position

Healthcare Services Group (HCSG) is hiring a Director of Clinical Operations (Registered Dietitian) to service long-term care and nursing facilities. This role involves building, directing, and managing a regional scalable clinical staffing business. The position requires collaboration with Human Resources and other stakeholders to recruit, hire, train, and manage a team of Registered Dietitians, ensuring compliant clinical coverage within client facilities. The Director will also be responsible for performance evaluations, managing external contract RDN services, implementing retention strategies, and overseeing budget and expense management. A strong understanding of clinical operations, regulatory compliance, and financial oversight is essential.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Dietetics or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and licensed in Dietetics by the state, as applicable.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of dietary experience in long-term care with managerial clinical and food services responsibilities.
  • Combination of Management and Clinical experience is required.
  • Self-starter, capable of leading, directing, and supporting a team in a diverse environment with highly developed interpersonal, analytical and communication skills.
  • Must stay abreast of regulations affecting the industry and identify issues and implement necessary changes.
  • Successful P&L and budgetary management.
  • Must be willing to travel based on operational needs.
  • Must submit to a Motor Vehicle Check and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Must live in service area.
  • Must be able to lift/carry a maximum of 10 pounds, push/pull a maximum of 10 pounds, stand, sit, bend and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Able to deal with the stress of multiple tasks.
  • Must be able to see, taste and smell.
  • Must be able to work around food and cleaning products.

Responsibilities

  • Build, direct, and manage a regional scalable clinical staffing business servicing the long-term and post-acute care industry.
  • Work and communicate with Human Resources and other stakeholders to recruit, hire, and train team members.
  • Assign work schedules and areas of responsibility to Registered Dietitians to ensure appropriate and compliant clinical coverage.
  • Conduct performance evaluations in accordance with Company policy.
  • Follow guidelines and limit parameters for the use of external contract RDN services and participate in Company record-keeping systems.
  • Work with Human Resources and other stakeholders to implement a retention strategy for the Registered Dietitian team to minimize turnover.
  • Monitor and approve area of oversight expenses, including labor hours, contract services, supplies, travel, education, training, and recruitment.
  • Monitor and approve revenue targets for internal HCSG dining accounts and external contract RDN services.
  • Utilize and keep up-to-date Company-approved systems to track and manage financial performance to budget.
  • Display in-depth knowledge of Mealtracker and manage clinical requirements through the system, supporting menu and diet extensions.
  • Communicate, develop, and implement corrective action plans as necessary in coordination with the human resources department.
  • Provide oversight for full compliance with Company programs, policies, procedures, and standards of ethics.
  • Conduct ongoing review of audit and quality monitoring measurements and regulatory performance data.
  • Seek and provide direction and support regarding regulatory compliance.
  • Function as clinical support, seeking input from internal stakeholders and supporting HCSG operations with client clinical leaders.
  • Participate in quarterly business review meetings with clients as needed.
  • Collaborate with HCSG Sales, Marketing, and Learning and Development Teams to support new revenue opportunities.
  • Participate in corporate work groups for strategic planning and product development relative to clinical policies, procedures, infrastructure, and process improvement.
  • Participate in operational meetings for strategic planning and performance review.
  • Support operations to ensure sound clinical practices are integrated into food handling, preparation, service, and delivery.
  • Manage and direct special projects within the area of responsibility.
  • Effectively communicate (written and oral) with clients, physicians, staff, residents, residents’ families, consultants, and corporate staff regarding the clinical aspect of dietary services.
  • Ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures for workplace safety, including infection control and universal precautions.
