The Director of Clinical Nursing Administration serves as the lead administrative officer for the clinical nursing unit within the Sue & Bill Gross School of Nursing and functions as a key member of the School's management team. This position provides strategic leadership and oversight across clinical education, operations, finance, and faculty practice activities that support the School's educational and practice missions. The Director independently manages complex projects involving the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of clinical operations and experiential nursing education infrastructure across all program levels (undergraduate, graduate, doctoral, and community), ensuring clinical learning environments support student success, faculty practice excellence, and regulatory compliance. The Director functions as the finance manager for clinical operations and faculty practice, providing fiscal leadership over the clinical nursing unit's operational budget, fiscal reporting, and professional billing activities in collaboration with senior School leadership and the Director of Finance. The incumbent is responsible for financial analysis, regulatory compliance, resource planning, and budget monitoring to ensure operational sustainability and alignment with institutional priorities. Additionally, the Director conducts studies and analyses to inform decision-making, develops operational procedures and systems to support accreditation documentation, and recommends policy changes to ensure adherence to government regulations, external agency requirements, and university policies. The Director provides comprehensive administrative and operational oversight of simulation operations and has full personnel authority over simulation specialists and clinical support staff who manage clinical learning environments, preceptor training, and student placements at academic health centers and community partners. Working collaboratively with academic program leadership, the Director of the Clinical Faculty Practice, and the Director of the Simulation Center, the incumbent develops and executes long-term vision, policies, and procedures for clinical nursing programs while ensuring compliance with accreditation standards (AACN, BRN, CCNE). This position requires specialized expertise in healthcare, clinical training, and nursing education to optimize clinical placement processes, sustain high-quality education sites, and implement continuous quality improvement initiatives that advance academic excellence, health equity, and community impact.
