About The Position

The Director of Children’s Ministry provides spiritual and operational leadership for FBA’s ministry to children in grades K-5, creating a Christ-centered environment where children hear the Gospel, grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ, and are connected to the life of the church.

Requirements

  • Must have a growing and mature personal relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Must align with FBA’s Statement of Faith, beliefs, mission, and values
  • Must be a current member of FBA or enrolled in First Class with the intention of becoming a member within the first three months of employment
  • Previous experience serving or leading in Children’s Ministry required
  • Demonstrated ability to lead staff and recruit, train, and equip volunteers
  • Strong interpersonal, relational, verbal, written, and presentation skills
  • Ability to develop and implement short- and long-range ministry goals, programs, and procedures
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Must support and model FBA’s culture and service expectations, including the Red Carpet Standard (H.E.A.R.T.) and 3M Strategy

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide spiritual and operational leadership for Children’s Ministry in alignment with FBA’s mission
  • Plan, oversee, and evaluate a comprehensive ministry for children in grades K-5
  • Ensure biblical teaching, curriculum, and discipleship are consistent with Scripture and FBA’s Statement of Faith
  • Oversee Sunday School, missions education, VBS or equivalent programming, music, events, and other ministry opportunities
  • Create a welcoming environment that connects children and families to the life of FBA
  • Recruit, train, equip, and lead staff and volunteers with clear expectations, accountability, and encouragement
  • Develop strategies for ministry growth, outreach, follow-up, and engagement with children and families
  • Develop annual ministry goals, programming, calendar, and budget requests.
  • Collaborate with FBA ministries and departments to support church-wide programs, events, and initiatives
  • Support the overall ministry and mission of FBA
  • Model an authentic Christian witness through personal conduct, relationships, and servant leadership
  • Conduct performance evaluations for direct reports as required
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with applicable FBA and Family Ministry policies
  • Pursue appropriate ministry and professional development
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
