About The Position

Reporting to the Senior Director of the Fritz Family Cura Services Office, the Director of Student Case Management provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for the university’s student support and Cura services. In order to assist Creighton students to flourish, Cura efforts will connect students with appropriate resources; accompany students on their journey to reach their individualized goals; and create guidelines and accountability partnerships to assist students to practice self-advocacy. This role is responsible for managing a high-performing team of case managers, overseeing the distribution of student referrals, and managing the most complex, high-sensitivity cases. As a central figure in campus safety and wellness, the Director chairs key behavioral intervention teams and fosters vital partnerships across the university and the broader community.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Social Work required
  • 3+ years of experience required: working with college age population or other similar case management population.
  • Proficient with electronic health records
  • Knowledge of interworking of campus systems
  • Understanding of case management responsibilities in higher education, specifically within a HECMA/CAS Standards framework
  • Skilled in work with and understand undergraduate and graduate/professional student population with variety of needs
  • Ability to work within multidisciplinary treatment team
  • Must be able to navigate conflict and communicate effectively
  • Understanding of FERPA, HIPPA, Clery and other pertinent regulations
  • Commitment to value of holistic development for students and Creighton’s charisms

Nice To Haves

  • Supervision experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver strategic leadership for the case management team. Hire, train, and evaluate all case managers to ensure student outcomes are being met.
  • Receive university student referrals and assign to case managers and/or refer to on campus and community agencies for follow up.
  • Provide direct case management for complex or highly sensitive situations
  • Chair the Invisible Safety Net (ISN) and Student Life Care Team meetings. Serve on Threatening Behaviors of Concern (TBC) committee.
  • Build and sustain relationships and referrals to on campus departments and community-based agencies.
  • Serve as a financial steward for budgetary allocation.
