About The Position

RAB is a fully remote, cloud-based lighting manufacturing and distribution company with an established SaaS stack. The Director of Business Technology will advance the company’s technology and business processes, particularly by identifying opportunities to use AI and automation to improve manual processes, handoffs, reporting, and operations. The role is hands-on and includes evaluating tools, building or directing integrations, and delivering working systems that transform how the business operates.

The Director will own IT strategy, cybersecurity, systems, vendor relationships, and technology resources while maintaining a secure and reliable environment. The position oversees infrastructure, IT service delivery, policies, budgets, projects, risk management, and collaboration with executive leadership and other departments. The role is remote, with approximately 10% travel potentially required to RAB facilities and for vendor meetings, training, conferences, and team-building activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; equivalent relevant education and experience may be considered.
• 7–10 years of progressively responsible IT experience, including leadership or management responsibilities.
• 2–4 years of AI tools proficiency.
• Demonstrated experience in IT infrastructure, desktop and server management, networking, cloud technologies, cybersecurity, vendor management, budgeting, and technology implementation.
• Experience with AWS or Azure.
• Familiarity with programming or scripting languages.
• Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, systems, and cloud technologies.
• Ability to lead, motivate, and develop IT personnel.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues, assess risks, and make sound decisions.
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly and work effectively with executive leadership, employees, and external partners.
• Ability to prioritize initiatives, coordinate resources, and manage competing priorities.
• Ability to evaluate technology risks and balance security, operational needs, and cost.
• Ability to evaluate vendors, negotiate contracts, and maintain productive business relationships.
• Ability to manage budgets, evaluate technology investments, and align IT decisions with business priorities.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree.
• Relevant certifications in cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, networking, or IT management.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement IT strategies aligned with RAB’s business objectives.
• Oversee IT infrastructure, including desktops, servers, networks, cloud services, and related systems.
• Manage cybersecurity, information security, risk mitigation, compliance, and disaster recovery.
• Lead and supervise IT staff and oversee technology support and service delivery.
• Establish and maintain IT policies, procedures, standards, and documentation.
• Develop and manage IT budgets, vendor contracts, technology resources, and capacity planning.
• Lead technology projects, system implementations, upgrades, and process improvements.
• Collaborate with executive leadership and other departments to address business needs and technology priorities.
• Identify opportunities to use AI and automation to improve business processes and operations, evaluate tools, and implement or direct integrations.
