About The Position

Sheehy Auto Stores is creating a new Director of Business Intelligence role to build the BI function from the ground up as part of a significant investment in data and analytics. This high-visibility leadership position reports directly to the COO and will directly influence how the organization uses data to make decisions. This is a rare chance to design, build, and lead Sheehy’s business intelligence strategy. You will own the data foundation, lead BI platform selection, and deliver executive-level insights that drive decision-making at both the rooftop and enterprise levels. You will not inherit legacy systems; you will help choose the platform, define the KPIs, and create the reporting architecture that powers the business.

Requirements

  • 5+ years in business intelligence, data analytics, or related field
  • Automotive retail experience with a strong understanding of dealership P&L
  • Hands-on experience extracting and structuring data from a DMS
  • Proficiency with Qlik, Power BI, or Tableau
  • Strong executive communication skills
  • Experience supporting BI platform implementation or vendor evaluation

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with multi-rooftop dealer groups, automotive software companies, or BI vendors serving automotive retail
  • Familiarity with Qlik Sense, including reseller or implementation partners
  • Fixed operations reporting experience (service absorption, parts velocity, ELR)
  • Experience building a BI function or team in a growth environment

Responsibilities

  • Design and oversee scalable data architecture using Reynolds & Reynolds DMS, CRM, and other operational systems
  • Establish clean, reliable data pipelines across all dealerships and departments
  • Lead BI platform evaluation and selection
  • Develop executive dashboards and reporting for variable operations (new, used, F&I), fixed operations (service and parts), and Dealership and enterprise P&L
  • Define and standardize KPIs (gross per unit, F&I penetration, service absorption, cost per sale, and more)
  • Translate complex data into insights that drive operational decisions
  • Serve as the internal BI and reporting expert for executive leadership
  • Partner with the CTO to simplify and streamline data feeds
  • Build and lead a small, high-performing BI team over time
  • Collaborate with GMs and department heads to ensure adoption and impact
