About The Position

The Director of Business Development is a strategic sales leader responsible for driving new customer acquisition. This role focuses on identifying high-potential prospects, executing outbound sales campaigns, qualifying inbound marketing leads, and converting new opportunities into long-term partnerships. Success in this role means consistently opening new doors, securing initial meetings, and building a strong pipeline of new business. In addition, this role is responsible to support business improvement by meeting personal and departmental goals and objectives timely and effectively.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Supply Chain, Transportation and/or Logistics
  • 6+ years of business development or sales leadership experience, preferably within the trucking, transportation, or logistics industry.
  • Demonstrated success driving profitable revenue growth, expanding market share, and consistently exceeding sales targets.
  • Excellent leadership, critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional presentation, communication, and business writing skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization and with customers.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel and PowerPoint.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, customer focus, and a collaborative, hands-on approach.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic outbound prospecting plans (cold calling, email, LinkedIn, etc.).
  • Qualify and nurture inbound leads generated through marketing campaigns.
  • Identify and target key accounts that align with the company's service offerings.
  • Build a strong pipeline of opportunities and progress them through the sales funnel.
  • Deliver persuasive presentations to prospective customers and manage the sales process through close.
  • Collaborate with marketing to optimize messaging and campaign effectiveness.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and sales forecasts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
