About The Position

The Director of Business Development, Affiliate Marketing is responsible for finding and closing new clients for eAccountable's affiliate, influencer, and performance PR practice. This is a senior, client-facing new business role led through an affiliate-first lens, with influencer and performance PR as integrated performance layers. The role involves building the pipeline, leading the pitch, shaping the proposal, and closing the deal. The focus is on selling integrated programs that combine affiliate, influencer, and PR, requiring the ability to navigate client conversations effectively.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of business development, sales, or partnerships experience in a digital marketing or agency setting
  • A proven track record of closing net-new business against sales targets
  • Experience selling to CMOs and VPs of Marketing at e-commerce, DTC, and retail brands
  • Strong expertise in affiliate marketing fundamentals, including partner models, commissioning strategies, attribution, and platform ecosystems
  • Deep familiarity with affiliate networks and platforms including Impact, Rakuten, Partnerize, AWIN, and CJ, with a clear understanding of the nuances of each, including how influencer recruiting works through them
  • Experience with influencer-affiliate platforms such as ShopMy and LTK
  • The ability to articulate the difference between TikTok influencers and TikTok affiliates, and to position each correctly for a prospect's goals
  • Familiarity with social commerce and creator-led conversion programs, including TikTok Shop
  • An understanding of brand ambassador and creator community strategies and their role in driving sustained revenue
  • A working understanding of how performance PR extends and amplifies affiliate
  • Willingness to travel 30-50% for industry events and client meetings as needed
  • A deep rolodex of contacts across networks, agencies, brands, and publishers that you can activate immediately for warm introductions and referrals
  • Strong consultative, relationship-first selling skills and a true hunter mindset
  • The judgment to qualify hard and walk away when the fit is wrong
  • Enough technical depth to speak with authority to clients and prospects and to scope accurately with our delivery teams. This is not a hands-on execution role, but you need to know the work

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Sandler, Challenger, or a similar sales methodology is a plus
  • You don't just attend affiliate conferences; you know the room. You walk into Affiliate Summit, PI LIVE, or similar events with a full dance card and leave with new ones
  • A reputation in the affiliate community that opens doors before the first call is booked

Responsibilities

  • Reach out to an extensive contact list across e-commerce to introduce eAccountable's affiliate and performance PR offering
  • Proactively prospect in our core verticals, including apparel, health and beauty, and sports and outdoors
  • Build and manage a pipeline through warm outreach, networking, and referrals
  • Drive affiliate-led opportunities, including standalone affiliate engagements and influencer-affiliate hybrid programs
  • Position and sell integrated programs with a strong emphasis on performance, attribution, and ROI
  • Conduct discovery calls and present tailored proposals that translate client goals into integrated strategies
  • Collaborate internally on pitch decks and RFP responses, partnering with our channel leads on scope and pricing, then handing off cleanly to delivery
  • Attend e-commerce and affiliate industry events and identify thought leadership opportunities that build our presence in affiliate, influencer, and creator commerce
  • Represent eAccountable at key industry conferences, leveraging existing relationships and actively building new ones to expand our footprint in the affiliate community
