About The Position

The Director of Auxiliary Services oversees activities and supervises personnel in housing, vending, concessions, special events, bookstore, and food service operations of the College. The Director also serves as the liaison for any third party vendors contracted for various auxiliary functions. Additionally, the Director coordinates with internal departments in regards to receipting of funds. The Director is expected to manage the various auxiliary functions as a business, while meeting the needs of our students.

Requirements

  • A minimum of Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution is required.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of management experience is required.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of successful experience coordinating or supervising a department is required.

  • A minimum of five (5) years work experience in postsecondary education
  • Demonstrated experience in event planning or food services
  • Previous experience in accounting or a business background
  • Excellent relational skills
  • Ability to establish, maintain, and reconcile point of sale systems and payment gateways
  • Ability to produce profit and loss statements for various functions and maintain compliance with financial recordkeeping
  • Ability to maintain inventory counts
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient computer usage in email, internet, word processing, etc

Responsibilities

  • Manage the College’s auxiliary services including on-campus housing operations, bookstore, special events, vending, cafeterias and other campus food services.
  • Supervise on-campus housing staff and oversee the maintenance of dorm buildings and equipment.
  • Supervise vendor relationships across auxiliary services, including performance monitoring, contract administration, service evaluation, and implementation of improvements.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve revenue generation, operational efficiency, and service quality across all auxiliary services while ensuring responsiveness to changing student and market needs.
  • Monitor financial performance of auxiliary units and develop long-range operational and financial plans aligned with institutional priorities, enrollment trends, and strategic goals.
  • Demonstrate evidence of flexibility and willingness to change; open-mindedness, goal attained orientation, and ability to see multiple perspectives, Provide exemplary internal and external customer service.
  • Develop departmental objectives, budgets, policies, procedures, and strategies.
  • Submit purchase order requests for supplies and equipment as required.
  • Manage and coordinate the work of the department ensuring communication, efficient administration and consistent application of policies, procedures and initiatives.
  • Develop, supervise, and mentor personnel with special attention to the needs of the department to stay abreast of changing technologies and best practices.
  • Promote positive and productive relationships with service areas.
  • Be prompt and punctual in reporting to work keeping appropriate office hours.
  • Implementation and supervision of any auxiliary functions that may evolve in the future.
  • Complete special projects and assignments as required.
  • Serve on college committees as assigned.
  • Perform all duties with professionalism.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

  • Appropriate placement on the ACCS Salary Schedule C2: $80,715 - $125,160
