About The Position

This role is for a Director of Audit within the Capital Markets division. The position requires a minimum of 10 years of experience in financial sector audit and/or professional audit standards. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and presentation skills, along with strong interpersonal skills to interact with executives and senior management. Key attributes include accountability, leadership, initiative, teamwork, and the ability to influence. The role demands expertise in risk management and audit, with in-depth knowledge of regulatory guidance, IIA Standards, Practice Advisories, and Practice Guides. A strong background with major business segments of RBC or a comparable peer bank is essential, as is the ability to develop a strong understanding of RBC guidelines and processes. The position also requires strong analytical, communication, strategic, and creative thinking, coupled with excellent planning and organizational skills. Leadership by example in teamwork, cross-unit cooperation, and information sharing is highly valued.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Lead audit engagements within the Capital Markets division.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with staff, peers, and stakeholders.
  • Interact and deal with executives and senior management.
  • Apply expertise in risk management and audit.
  • Utilize in-depth knowledge of regulatory guidance, IIA Standards, Practice Advisories, and Practice Guides.
  • Develop a strong knowledge of RBC guidelines and processes.
  • Access in-house subject matter experts.
