About The Position

Post University, a NCAA Division II institution and member of the CACC Conference, is seeking a Director of Athletic Communications. This role requires strong writing skills, proficiency in relevant software, and the ability to learn new processes. The candidate will be responsible for covering all Post University home games and must understand the rules of each sponsored sport. Key duties include maintaining statistics according to conference and NCAA rules, managing the athletic website, publicizing teams, handling live stats and video streaming, and writing press releases. The position also involves managing social media accounts for Eagles Athletics, establishing relationships with local media, and coordinating with opposing teams for game promotion. The Director will also prepare game notes, programs, take team photos, and manage the athletics online photo shop. This role oversees part-time staff and student assistants/interns, participates in marketing and promotion, and performs other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.

  • Operate all software and other statistical programs used by the NCAA, NE-10, ECC, NEWHA and CACC.

Responsibilities

  • Keep statistics according to NCAA, NE-10, ECC, NEWHA & CACC rules and input data into all relevant programs.
  • Manage the athletic website.
  • Publicize every team.
  • Manage live stats and video streaming.
  • Write all press releases.
  • Manage Eagles Athletics media accounts.
  • Establish relationships with the local media.
  • Coordinate with local media and opposing teams to promote games.
  • Write and distribute press releases in the associated press format.
  • Manage all sport information, including part-time Assistant Director of Athletic Communications and game staff.
  • Take part in the marketing and promotion of collegiate programs and their successes.
  • Prepare game notes, game programs, take team photos and video stream games.
  • Run and develop the online photo shop for athletics.
  • Manage all social media channels associated with the athletic department, including Twitter and YouTube.
  • Research hometown newspapers and interact with media outlets; increase hometown coverage.
  • Sit at and manage the Official Scorer's Table during home contests.
  • Operate all software and other statistical programs used by the NCAA, NE-10, ECC, NEWHA and CACC.
  • Update the athletics webpage as directed.
  • Conduct research relating Post University's athletic programs and track statistics on web traffic.
  • Oversee student graduate assistants/interns in conjunction with the undergraduate sport management program.
  • Other duties assigned by the Athletic Director.
