About The Position

Roanoke College is seeking an Assistant Director of Athletic Communications to assist in the positive promotion of Roanoke College Athletics. This is a 12-month position with 1.0 FTE. The role involves directing sports information/promotion for multiple NCAA Division III teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Knowledge and/or experience in NCAA division III athletics, particularly in the area of sports information, web page management, and video production.
• Proficient in desktop publishing and web content editing, including MS Office Applications, Presto and NCAA Live Stats statistical software, and Adobe Premier software (InDesign and Photoshop).
• Strong Communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work with young adults while maintaining a high energy, professional attitude.
• Well-developed interpersonal skills with an ability to get along well with diverse personalities while being tactful, mature, and flexible.
• Must be able to work evening and weekend hours.
• Strong work ethic and ability to be a team player.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Athletic Communications in the maintenance of the athletic website.
• Assist the Director of Athletic Communications in the maintenance of the athletic social media plan.
• Assist the Director of Athletic Communications in the maintenance of statistical records.
• Serve as the technical director for select video streaming efforts.
• Attend home athletic events for which we stream live.
• Coordinate camera and play-by-play commentary for video streaming.
• Troubleshoot video streaming operations.
• Help recruit, train and oversee student staff and other game day workers.
• Performs additional duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics Communications.
