The Director works with Creative, Technology, Strategy, Media, CRM & Loyalty, and Innovation colleagues, and supervises marketing analytics and data services alongside two or more external agencies. The position involves leading complex engagements and client relationships in a full-service digital setting, centralizing analytics services across the Material network, and advancing its data and martech stack. This is a hybrid role based near an office in Los Angeles, New York City, or Austin.

Requirements

  • Experience designing multi-stage, data-driven solutions from requirements through delivery.
  • Experience connecting paid media and digital analytics data to lead management, CRM stages, customer outcomes, and revenue.
  • Strong understanding of lead attribution and marketing measurement methods, including their assumptions and limitations.
  • Experience guiding segmentation or predictive modeling.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with Snowflake or a comparable cloud data warehouse.
  • Experience developing and overseeing BI dashboards and automated reporting workflows.
  • Working knowledge of Marketo, Salesforce, campaign tracking, tag management, and marketing data integration.
  • Ability to diagnose data discrepancies, set reporting standards, and turn complex analyses into clear client recommendations.
  • Ability to self-organize and prioritize competing work for multiple stakeholders across geographies, within a cross-agency team and an evolving organization.
  • Creative problem-solving ability, including turning data and research into insights and relevant recommendations.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Supermetrics, Campaign Manager 360, Google Tag Manager, GA4, and other media or web analytics platforms.
  • Experience connecting online activity to offline conversions, appointments, or sales.
  • Familiarity with incrementality testing, marketing mix modeling, forecasting, and customer lifetime value analysis.
  • Experience with Account Based Marketing.
  • Experience setting quality controls and review practices for AI-assisted analytics and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Define KPI frameworks, baselines, reporting requirements, and measurement plans that connect marketing activity to outcomes across the customer journey.
  • Agree with client stakeholders on definitions for leads, qualified leads, conversions, customers, and revenue.
  • Oversee mapping of campaign and lead data to understand lead sources, funnel progression, conversion quality, and downstream value.
  • Identify gaps in identifiers, campaign taxonomy, and lead management processes that limit measurement.
  • Guide the design and evaluation of lead attribution, multi-touch attribution, audience segmentation, propensity models, and other analyses suited to client data and decisions.
  • Assess assumptions, data coverage, and limitations, and distinguish attributed outcomes from evidence of incremental impact.
  • Own the analytical quality of BI dashboards, recurring reports, and executive presentations, ensuring they explain changes, significance, confidence, and recommended actions.
  • Lead automated workflows for data collection, preparation, reporting, and quality checks, including Supermetrics connectors where appropriate.
  • Set responsible-use standards for Claude and ChatGPT in analysis and drafting, requiring human review for accuracy, confidentiality, and client relevance.
  • Use SQL to explore, validate, and prepare marketing data in Snowflake, and review the logic behind reporting datasets.
  • Work with data engineering to resolve pipeline, access, and reporting issues.
  • Investigate discrepancies across advertising platforms, web analytics, CRM systems, and reports.
  • Document metric definitions, attribution logic, data lineage, quality checks, and known limitations.
  • Partner with Media, Technology, CRM, Creative, and client teams on tagging, data layers, campaign parameters, conversion feeds, and implementation QA.
  • Design practical test and measurement plans for audiences, creative, site content, channels, and customer journeys.
  • Manage priorities across stakeholders and external partners, review analysts’ work, and flag risks early.
  • Present findings to technical and executive audiences.
  • Contribute reusable methods and point-of-view content, stay current on industry practices, and train staff.
