About The Position

The Director of Advancement provides strategic leadership for the school’s comprehensive advancement program and plays a key role in advancing the mission, vision, and long-term sustainability of the institution. The Director is responsible for developing and implementing strategies that strengthen philanthropy, donor relations, alumni engagement, community partnerships, and institutional support. The Director of Advancement cultivates meaningful relationships with donors, alumni, parents, grandparents, foundations, corporations, and community partners. The Director oversees annual giving, major gifts, capital campaigns, special fundraising initiatives, stewardship, advancement events, and other efforts designed to increase philanthropic support.

Requirements

Minimum of Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
Reliable transportation
Valid driver license
Valid vehicle insurance
Must pass archdiocesan Safe Environment Requirements and background screening
Must pass Texas DPS Fingerprint-based Applicant Clearinghouse screening
Experience in institutional fundraising preferred
Experience in alumni relations and external affairs preferred

Proficient software experience and skills including but not limited to use of basic productivity suites such as Microsoft Office or Google Apps as well as the ability to utilize software designed for donor and alumni tracking
Ability to work independently and make prudent decisions as warranted in the absence of the Principal
Ability to balance multiple priorities
High professional and ethical standards for handling confidential information
Ability to travel and work evenings and weekends as needed

Responsibilities

Coordinates and facilitates Antonian’s mission in the areas of advancement services, development, donor stewardship, stakeholder relations, and other assignments as deemed appropriate by the school’s executive leadership
Works as part of an integrated management team to establish overall goals and strategies for increasing support of Antonian
Manages prospect research and cultivation intuitiveness with a special emphasis on pursuing strategies to secure and increase giving
Establish measurable fundraising goals and track progress toward those goals
Tell compelling stories that demonstrate the impact of philanthropy on students, faculty, programs, and the school community
Provide board members with the information, training, and resources necessary to serve as effective ambassadors for the school.
Serve as a visible ambassador for the school within the broader community.
Develop relationships with businesses, foundations, civic organizations, community leaders, and other strategic partners.
Identify opportunities to increase the school’s visibility, reputation, and community support.
Participate in professional development and advancement organizations.
Promote a culture of integrity, gratitude, service, and philanthropy throughout the school community.
Develops and submits annual strategic plans for approval; implements approved plans
With the support of the Principal, develops and submits annual operational development plans for approval; oversees implementation of plans
Identifies individual donors and potential foundation and corporate gifts
Serves as the capital campaign/endowment campaign director, providing periodic reports of campaign status and efforts
Partner with the school’s communications and marketing efforts to promote advancement priorities
Plan and oversee fundraising, stewardship, alumni, and donor recognition events.
Collaborate with school departments, parent organizations, volunteers, and community partners to ensure successful events.
Evaluate the effectiveness and return on investment of advancement events.
Develop opportunities for donors and prospective donors to experience the school’s mission firsthand.
Oversee the advancement database and ensure accurate records of donors, prospects, alumni, gifts, pledges, and engagement.
Establish procedures for gift processing, acknowledgment, recognition, and reporting.
Analyze fundraising and donor data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
Develops goals and initiatives aimed to increase engagement, community, and giving from alumni
Guides the Associate Director of Advancement in initiatives aimed to strengthen alumni relations
Supervises the Associate Director of Advancement as he/she works with families to ensure compliance and effective processes related to scholarships and other areas of financial funding for current families
