About The Position

Ossian Health and Rehabilitation is seeking a Director of Admissions to join their work family. This role is for individuals looking to make a difference in the lives of residents by helping them reach and maintain their highest functional abilities. The Director of Admissions will manage the facility's inquiry and admissions process, aiming to increase quality census by educating the community, customers, and referral sources about long-term care benefits and the admission process. The role involves implementing employee, public relations, and community initiatives, maintaining a high visibility of the facility in the community, and educating healthcare providers about services and bed availability. The Director will also handle inquiries regarding Medicare/Medicaid, billing, and facility services, coordinate admission decisions, and ensure the confidentiality of resident information.

Requirements

  • A College Degree in Liberal Arts, Nursing/Social Service or Related Field
  • At least six (6) months in a similar position

  • Admissions/Marketing experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Management of the facility’s inquiry and admission process.
  • Increasing quality census by educating the community, customers and referral sources of the long-term care benefits and admission process.
  • Handle and implement employee, public relations and community initiatives.
  • Maintain high visibility of the facility in the community to project a resource image for issues of short or long-term health care.
  • Educate discharge planners, social workers, physician and other local health providers of the services/programs offered and bed availability.
  • Follow up on all inquiries to answer further questions on Medicare/Medicaid, billing, facility services, etc.
  • Coordinating all admission decisions through the Clinical Nurse Liaison, Director of Nursing or Administrator.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of all residents and their care to ensure resident rights, privacy and property are protected at all times.
  • All other duties as assigned.
