Requirements

  • Minimum of Bachelor's Degree
  • Previous Professional Experience relating to Duties
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills, often in stressful situations involving students or co-workers.
  • Fast-paced work environment requiring quick adaptation skills in a changing strategic and tactical workplace.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate dependability in all matters, including attendance, communication, adherence to institutional and departmental policies and procedures, and accurate completion of paperwork.
  • Enforce all policies and procedures of the institution and the department.
  • Demonstrate a positive and professional attitude when dealing with all members of the public, applicants, students, staff, faculty, and administration.
  • Manage the processes associated with undergraduate general student admission and work with graduate programs as determined.
  • Hire and train admissions officers, including training for new admissions officers regarding policies and procedures, and promoting improvement by providing additional training needed for individual admissions representatives or the department.
  • Conduct continual training in program knowledge for all admissions officers.
  • Ensure proper usage of institutional software systems and adherence to usage policy.
  • Complete weekly and monthly admission reports and distribute, as well as additional analyses as requested.
  • Ensure adherence to the approved annual departmental budget.
  • Provide motivation to admissions staff.
  • Engage in physical activities at least 50% of the time, which may include campus tours, open houses, welcome sessions, and daily interactions with Admissions Officers.
  • Establish and maintain a plan for presenting information relating to South College and programs to high school students.
  • Handle advanced verbal and written communication, often in stressful situations involving students or co-workers.
  • Adapt quickly to a fast-paced work environment requiring quick adaptation skills in a changing strategic and tactical workplace.
  • Perform other duties as deemed appropriate by the supervisor.
