About The Position

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Accounting to lead our global accounting function. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting across multiple international markets. You will oversee core accounting operations, the month-end close process, internal controls, and statutory compliance, while partnering closely with Finance leadership, external auditors, and global teams. This position plays a critical role in maintaining financial integrity and supporting ASEA's continued growth worldwide.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)
  • 7–10 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting standards
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Proven ability to lead teams and drive results in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or Master of Accountancy (preferred)
  • CPA certification (strongly preferred)
  • Experience in a multinational or global organization (preferred)
  • Public accounting / Big 4 experience (preferred)
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the global accounting team to ensure high performance, accountability, and development
  • Oversee preparation of asset, liability, and equity account entries through detailed analysis
  • Manage Accounts Payable and expense reimbursement processes
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of month-end and year-end close processes
  • Establish and maintain strong financial policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Drive compliance with U.S. GAAP and applicable international regulations
  • Partner with external auditors and support global financial statement audits
  • Prepare and review consolidated and market-specific financial reports (balance sheet, P&L, cash flow)
  • Analyze and resolve financial discrepancies and variances
  • Develop reporting insights and support strategic decision-making
  • Lead performance management, coaching, and development for direct reports
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Operations, and international teams
  • Contribute to special projects and continuous improvement initiatives
