Due to our continued growth, we are hiring, Director of Accounting & Financial Planning. The Director of Accounting & Financial Planning will serve as a key leader within the finance team, owning the integrity of L7’s financial operations while driving strategic financial planning and insight. This role is responsible for end-to-end accounting oversight, including close, compliance, and audit, while also leading forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis to support executive decision-making. As a senior partner to the VP of Finance & Talent, this individual will play a critical role in scaling financial infrastructure, building processes, and developing a high-performing finance function.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required) or Finance
10–12+ years of progressive experience in accounting and finance
Strong technical accounting expertise (US GAAP, ASC 606 required)
Proven experience leading accounting functions and managing audits
Experience owning or leading budgeting and forecasting processes
Demonstrated ability to build and scale finance processes in a high-growth environment
Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing teams
Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence executive stakeholders

Nice To Haves

CPA strongly preferred
Experience in SaaS or software industry
Experience with multi-entity and/or international operations
Background in both public accounting and industry (ideal)
Experience implementing or optimizing ERP/accounting systems

Responsibilities

Own and oversee the full financial cycle utilizing software solutions including Sage Intacct, Bill.com, Expensify ensuring quality control over transactions and related policies and systems
Ensure accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial statements and reporting
Manage, develop and retain a team of accounting professionals
Establish and enforce accounting policies in accordance with US GAAP, including ASC 606
Lead all audit activities, including external audits and internal control readiness
Oversee tax compliance, including multi-state and federal requirements
Design and implement scalable accounting processes, systems, and internal controls
Provide technical accounting guidance on complex transactions and business changes
Evaluate and optimize financial systems (Sage Intacct, Bill.com, Expensify, etc.)
Own company-wide budgeting and forecasting processes
Lead development of financial models to support strategic planning and growth initiatives
Deliver executive-level reporting, including board materials and KPI dashboards
Provide insights into business performance, profitability, and cost optimization
Partner with leadership on headcount planning, investment decisions, and resource allocation
Lead scenario planning and support key strategic initiatives
