About The Position

The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) is a senior finance leader responsible for driving the organization’s financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analytical functions. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this role provides strategic and operational financial insight to support decision making across grant funded programs and fee for service business lines. The Director of FP&A partners closely with executive leadership, program leaders, development, and operations to ensure financial sustainability, grant compliance, and growth of mission driven services in a complex nonprofit environment with multiple funding sources.

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
  • 8–10+ years of progressive finance experience, including FP&A leadership.
  • Demonstrated experience in nonprofit finance, including grant funded programs.
  • Strong financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial reporting tools.
  • Ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly to non financial stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree (MBA, MPA, or similar).
  • Certification such as CPA, CFA, or CGMA.
  • Experience in organizations with both grant funding and fee-for-service revenue.
  • Familiarity with indirect cost allocations, restricted funds, and grant compliance.
  • Experience supporting Board or Finance Committee reporting.
