About The Position

Crystal Stairs, Inc. is seeking a Director of Accounting and Finance who is responsible for budgeting and reporting, developing and maintaining accounting practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements in accordance with regulatory requirements for funders and nonprofit organizations. This role involves general ledger management, monthly and year-end closings, accounts payable, funder's reports, and audit preparation. The Director will supervise fiscal management staff, manage the corporate budget, oversee the agency's audit process, prepare financial statements, and maintain strong relationships with funders. This position requires strong interpersonal communication skills due to tight deadlines and contact with senior management, the C-Suite, and funders.

Requirements

  • B.A. or B.S. degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA or Masters Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Five or more years of accounting experience
  • Three or more years of management or supervisory experience
  • Minimum of two years of recent experience in a non-profit agency, preferably in a Controller or similarly situated position
  • Thorough knowledge and experience implementing GAAP and strong internal controls
  • Knowledge of non-profit government funded accounting and Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards
  • Experience with accounting software programs and Microsoft Office
  • Familiarity with relational database structures, and use of complex accounting data in a business environment
  • Excellent analytical ability and process development skills
  • Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent customer relations skills and ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and technical professionals
