About The Position

SharkNinja is seeking a Director of Accounting for the Americas region. This is a high-impact role responsible for leading the financial close, strengthening internal controls, modernizing accounting workflows, and developing a team. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader who is passionate about process improvement and driving efficiency within the finance organization. The role is based in Needham, MA and operates on a hybrid work model.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 8–12 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • At least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Demonstrated range across multiple functional accounting areas.
  • Strong command of US GAAP and SOX compliance requirements.
  • Experience managing or supporting external audits.
  • Proven track record of building and developing high-performing teams.
  • A process improvement mindset.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Comfort presenting to senior stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA license.
  • Experience in a multinational consumer products or manufacturing company.
  • Proficiency with Oracle ERP systems.
  • Experience building or scaling accounting functions in a high-growth or transformational environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close for the Americas region, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with US GAAP.
  • Prepare and review financial analyses, flux analyses, and management reporting packages.
  • Partner with FP&A on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Drive timely reconciliations and ensure aged items are resolved.
  • Own and strengthen the internal control environment for the Americas region, aligning with SOX requirements.
  • Manage deliverables and interactions with internal and external auditors.
  • Implement changes related to US GAAP that affect the region.
  • Contribute to SharkNinja's ongoing controls transformation.
  • Audit existing accounting processes and identify opportunities for simplification, automation, globalization, and scaling.
  • Lead workflow modernization initiatives to reduce manual effort and compress the close cycle.
  • Leverage Oracle ERP, AI, and reporting tools to improve data quality, visibility, and efficiency.
  • Support system implementations and enhancements.
  • Own accounting processes and provide technical guidance across multiple functional areas.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and a willingness to go beyond a defined scope.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of accounting professionals.
  • Create a culture of accountability, intellectual curiosity, and continuous improvement.
  • Set clear expectations, deliver honest feedback, and champion career growth for team members.
  • Model a "One Finance Team" mindset and provide cross-functional leadership coverage.
