Vanderbilt Health – Executive Search Team is conducting a national search for a Director, Nursing Operations, Monroe Carrell Jr. Children's Hospital. This role provides administrative oversight and leadership for staffing operations and patient throughput functions. The Director participates in the development and execution of operational and strategic functions and processes to achieve clinical, staffing, and patient flow goals. Responsibilities include fiscal accountability, maintaining quality and regulatory standards, optimizing workforce utilization, and supporting a high level of patient/family centered care and service. The Director leads efforts to proactively manage census fluctuations, maximize capacity, and remove barriers to efficient patient placement while enhancing patient and staff satisfaction. This role oversees program development, team management, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure integration across the clinical enterprise. Additionally, the Director provides feedback, coaching, and mentoring to less experienced peers and other members of the health care team. Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt is a 343-bed hospital with 48 Emergency Department rooms, 3 surgical locations, 21 operating rooms, and over 400,000 clinic visits annually. It is a large pediatric hospital on the Vanderbilt Health campus, serving a population well beyond the Nashville market through a robust and growing ambulatory network. The hospital has a rich history of nursing excellence and has received its fourth consecutive Magnet designation.
