About The Position

The Director, Nuclear Training provides management oversight of training programs at the Davis-Besse nuclear power plant. This includes Operations Initial and Re-qualification Training Programs, including the simulator, as well as Maintenance, Radiation Protection, Chemistry, and Engineering Training Programs. The role also oversees the Industrial Technology student program, college programs, and other staffing development programs.

The position maintains active involvement with INPO and National Academy for Nuclear Training evaluations and assists with industry working-group visits and activities, including Westrain and Training Program Review Board activities, industry trend analysis, and monitoring training effectiveness. Key performance measures include the Training Core Business Training Focus Index, department human errors (Department Clock Resets), RO/SRO program completion including NRC pass rate, and maintaining accreditation at each renewal.

Requirements

• Four years of related professional experience.
• Two years of nuclear power plant experience, during which the individual participated in operations or training section activities.
• Experience gained through college degree programs and/or certifications is applicable to the stated experience and skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Operations Initial and Re-qualification Training Programs, including the simulator, in accordance with Davis-Besse, industry, and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee Maintenance, Radiation Protection, Chemistry, and Engineering Training Programs in accordance with Davis-Besse and industry requirements.
• Oversee the Industrial Technology student program, college programs, and other staffing development programs.
• Participate in INPO and National Academy for Nuclear Training evaluations.
• Assist with visits and activities involving industry working groups, including Westrain and Training Program Review Board activities.
• Conduct industry trend analysis and monitor training effectiveness.
• Maintain accreditation at each renewal.
