About The Position

The American Cancer Society (ACS) is seeking a Director, Navigation Integration to lead initiatives that support the adoption and integration of navigation services. This role, within the Patient Support Pillar, focuses on workforce development, training, and leveraging ACS assets to address barriers to high-quality cancer care. The position requires expertise in planning, executing, and evaluating training curricula and other key initiatives in collaboration with internal and external partners. The Director will serve as a lead for patient navigation efforts, ensuring integration with other ACS departments, and representing ACS externally while upholding health equity principles. The role involves directing program activities, managing workflows, developing resources, overseeing operations and spending, and reporting to stakeholders. It also includes overseeing data collection, program evaluation, and identifying areas for improvement, as well as building and managing relationships with key partners and stakeholders. The Director will provide guidance and oversight to ensure team effectiveness and alignment with program goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with 8 years relevant experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating public health or patient care programs.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of people leader or supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of patient navigation.
  • Knowledge of cancer, cancer control, and cancer care delivery.
  • Knowledge of curriculum development and instructional design.
  • Knowledge of the operations and management of health systems.
  • Knowledge of program management and grants management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to set and meet deadlines and maintain schedules for deliverables related to multiple projects.
  • Ability to interact, collaborate, and effectively communicate across multiple projects and stakeholders to achieve departmental goals and priorities, operational efficiencies, and organizational impact.
  • Ability to conduct program evaluation, interpret data, and make data-driven programmatic decisions.
  • Ability to evaluate and prioritize new opportunities, set strategic goals, and determine the best allocation of resources to achieve organizational goals and optimize performance.
  • Ability to supervise and provide leadership to staff in multiple locations.
  • Ability to speak knowledgeably about the Society's mission, priorities, and cancer care delivery strategies in a wide variety of settings.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a subject matter expert to lead the design and execution of program activities, manages workflows, develops program resources, oversees daily operations and spending, and provides regular reports and updates to stakeholders.
  • Oversees data collection, develops data reports, leads program evaluation, identifies areas for program and process improvement, and supports ongoing dissemination of work through internal and external channels.
  • Builds and manages relationships with key partners, vendors, consultants, and other stakeholders to maximize program utilization, facilitating cross-department communication and collaboration.
  • Provides guidance, coordination, and oversight to ensure the team functions effectively and remains aligned with program goals.
